Our history

Founded in 1962, SFPA began under the name of SA Studler, a partnership of six landowners operating in poultry, who decided to pool their strengths.

The Warren pure lines bought by André and Annick Studler, from the American, Jim Warren proved to be a major success. This success continues to this day, making it a worldwide brown egg layer best seller.

In 1976, the breeding and distribution operations of SA STUDLER separated. The Distribution became SFPA, while the Breeding was bought by a newly developed company, Institut de Sélection Animale (ISA).

For the next 30 years SFPA was part of the Merial group formely Institut Merieux. Then in 2005 SFPA became the Distribution Division of Hendrix Genetics.

SFPA is proud to be part of Hendrix Genetics, which is a worldwide leader in multi-species breeding. Hendrix Genetics main markets are in chick layer, turkey and pig breeding and its R&D and innovative technologies serve animal productions for a variety of species. More than 1,000 people work for the group in more than 20 countries.
